Great for Growing Kale

Many of my kale seed packets noted the need for boron supplementation. So I bought this. I used it quite sparingly. But I do think it made a difference. It is somewhat hard to tell because I bought this a fair bit into the season. Each application does not require much, so it should last quite a while. I have a small garden though, so your usage may differ.

Next year I will definitely be using this again on my kale. And now that I have it on hand, I will use it from the beginning of the season.

I have just seen the most amazing thing

Have had severe clorosis (whitening of leaves that are suppose to be green, with some small green in the veins, not dur to fungus, or other) on my flowers. Searched around on the internet, and one site mentioned several things that could cause it, but one of their listed causes was boron deficency. Then I noticed that they also said that boron deficiency could also cause malformed parts of the other parts of the plants (seeds), and when I saw some effect of that on my flowers I decided to try this.

After spraying the 1 tablespoon/gallon water mixture around onto the leaves. (This was nearly unbelievable.) One flower was almost ready to bloom, and was slightly cracked open before spraying. But within an hour and 45 minutes, of watching my garden, this pod slowly opened up right in front of me. Its nearly half way to a full bloomed flower right now.

But there was also another amazing effect. On some of the leaves, they were literally bone white from 1/4 of the way from the stem (3/4 white) with about half of that showing the green in the veins.

Over this same hour and 45 minutes, I swear I see green spreading from the veins back out into the white area, and not just a little. There is more light green now to this one leaf I started watching than there is bone white, except for about 1/8 inch of the tip, which already turned crispy on me.

I wish I had a time-lapse video of this.
